Vintage Lorenz Bäumer Rhinestone Fish Earrings
Chic and playful, these fish earrings are undoubtedly the catch of the day! The majestic marine creatures have been artfully miniaturised in shiny gold-tone metal, depicting a goldfish in mid-turn. Their bodies are studded with sparkling rhinestones, and their eyes are accented with a champagne-colour faux pearl. Meticulously articulated fins, gill, and mouth make the fish appear incredibly lifelike. Dating from the 1980s-1990s, these stunners are the work of Lorenz Bäumer, the only independent jeweller of Place Vendôme, Paris’ legendary jewellery hub. Originally an engineer, Bäumer started creating costume jewellery in 1988 before founding his own brand in 1992 and switching to fine jewellery. For 20 years, he designed iconic pieces for Chanel, like the famous Camélia, Matelassée, and Coco rings, until he was made Louis Vuitton’s artistic director of jewellery in 2009. Lorenz Bäumer merges poetry with high-calibre engineering to create symbolic and unusual jewels that stand out for their uniqueness. True to his style, these intriguing fish earrings will surely upgrade any outfit with a fancy touch of fun. The perfect gift for the Pisces in your life.
