Vintage Kenneth Jay Lane Dome-Shaped Colourful Earrings
A pair of big and bold colourful earrings for adding a striking splash of colour to your day or evening outfit. Artfully sculpted in gold-plated metal and glossy black enamel, these vintage ear buttons feature a trio of gold-outlined concave disks centred with bezel-set beads in orange enamel. The multidimensional details add a lot of depth to the design and their domed shape has lots of presence on the ears, ensuring their stunning colour contrast doesn’t go unnoticed. The backs are fitted with clip-ons for comfortable wear and are signed Kenneth Lane, one of the world’s foremost fashion jewellers. Kenneth Jay Lane launched his label in 1963 after working with Hattie Carnegie and Christian Dior. Rumour has it that his career took off when the Duchess of Windsor took notice of his jewellery. KJL’s opulent and extravagant costume jewels have graced the styles of icons like Jackie Kennedy and Liz Taylor and are highly collectable and desirable to this day. A marvellous example of his “Fabulous Fakes”, these versatile, colourful earrings date from the 1980s (or possibly earlier) and cater to both statement seekers and classic tastes. Cheerful, vibrant, and refreshingly different.
