Les Bernard Signed 1980s Navy Blue Earrings
Bold and classy, these 1980s-1990s navy blue earrings are the perfect accessory for completing a “dress for success” look. Almost resembling a night sky, the bezel-set lucite boasts an electrifying dark blue colour in lacquered finish for a glossy effect. The gold-tone metal setting is fashioned in an oval shape with meandering curves, adding depth and softening the design. These vintage ear clips are signed Les Bernard Inc., an American jewellery manufacturing company founded in 1963 by Lester Joy and Bernard Shapiro – son of Vogue Jewellery co-founder Harold Shapiro. Based in Manhattan’s exclusive Fifth Avenue, the brand trademarked several innovative manufacturing techniques like the “Diamond Point Texture” and influenced famous fashion houses, such as Yves Saint Laurent and Givenchy. They also created jewellery for the popular 1980s TV show Dynasty for years. The company closed in 1996, but as its awareness and popularity increases, so does the value of its exquisite designs.
